Bluesky Puts Users in Charge of Trends

Bluesky, the decentralised social network, has begun testing a ‘Trending Topics’ feature, aiming to enhance real-time content discovery for its users. Currently in beta, this feature is accessible on both desktop and mobile platforms. Desktop users can find trending topics in the right sidebar, while mobile users can access them via the search button. Initially, the feature supports only English, but Bluesky plans to expand it to other languages in the future. Users who prefer not to engage with trending topics can disable the feature in their settings. Notably, the system respects previously muted words, ensuring a personalised experience by filtering out undesired content. With a user base exceeding 25 million, Bluesky continues to innovate, offering an alternative to traditional platforms and responding to user demands for more customised and user-centric social media experiences.
